Convert work time to decimal hours
Fifteen minutes is 15 out of 60 minutes, or 0.25 hours. So 2 hours and 15 minutes is 2.25 hours, not 2.15. Enter 2:15, 2h 15min, 135min or a decimal number. To add several time blocks, put each one on a separate line.
Breaks, rounding and hourly rates
Use “From / to” for a start and finish time, including a shift that ends the next day. Breaks are subtracted from the total. Time rounding starts off disabled. If you enable it, it applies once to the remaining total. An optional hourly rate gives you an amount without adding taxes or surcharges.
Units that mean what they say
Choose length, weight, temperature, volume, area, speed, time, data size, pressure, energy or power. US and UK gallons have separate entries, as do MB and MiB. Calculations run on your device.
Inches, gallons and megabytes: choose the right unit
One inch is exactly 2.54 centimetres. Some familiar unit names need a closer look: a US gallon is smaller than an imperial gallon, and a US cup differs from a metric cup. MB uses decimal units, while MiB uses binary units. Pick the unit written alongside your original value before converting it.
Time and unit conversion questions
How do I convert decimal hours back?
Enter 2.25 or 2,25 in the time field. The result also shows 2 h 15 min. Both a decimal point and a decimal comma are accepted.
Can I convert grams to millilitres?
That requires the density of the ingredient. The converter therefore keeps weight and volume separate. To scale all the quantities in a recipe together, use Recipe scaler.
Are working hours rounded up automatically?
No. Time rounding is off by default. You can choose an interval and whether to round up, down or to the nearest interval. For billing, use the rule agreed with your client. Displaying a duration as decimal hours does not itself round it to the nearest quarter-hour.
