Find colours that work together

How-to, tips & answers

Build a palette, pick colours from an image and check how well text reads against them.

How it works

  1. Choose an image or add a colour value.
  2. Edit the palette and try combinations.
  3. Copy the colour values or export the palette.

Collect colours

Choose an image or add HEX colours yourself. The palette also shows RGB and HSL values. Remove colours, copy their values or export the palette as PNG, SVG or PDF.

Check text against a background

Choose two colours and compare them in the preview. The contrast ratio shows whether the pair reaches the WCAG AA threshold for normal or large text. It does not assess the accessibility of the whole design.

Good to know

Are colours from a picture exact?

The palette groups common colours. Cropping, transparency and rendering can affect the result. Enter a HEX value directly when you need a specific colour.
